Pets West in Aledo - September 13

We'll take the mobile adoption unit to Pets West on Saturday, September 13, with friendly dogs and cats from the shelter that are available for adoption. Pets West is located at Bear Cat Road, on the I-20 service road near Aledo. They are hosting their annual Responsible Dog Ownership Day and will have many special events that day, from 10am until 2pm. Please join us!

Petsmart, July 19
Three dogs were adopted at Petsmart in Weatherford on Saturday, July 19. Because of the heat, we'll post-pone our offsite adoption events until September.
Parker County Peach Festival, July 12
We raised $800 at the Peach Festival! Click here to see photos of the event. The money will help fund the purchase of Kuranda beds for the 24 kennels in the new building under construction. We still need $500 so please contact us if you'd like to donate for the cause. Petsmart, June 21
Eight pets were adopted at our adoption event at the Petsmart in Weatherford on Saturday, June 22.

Volunteers and pets stayed in the shade on this hot afternoon, but they enjoyed meeting the many visitors and seeing the pets find their new homes.

In a generous gesture, Mitchell and Evan Siegal, along with Cory Churchill of Frank Kent Motor Company, provided the Weatherford/Parker County Animal Shelter with a mobile adoption unit in 2006.
Thanks to volunteers, we've been able to take the unit out to many of the local businesses in the Weatherford area. These events make the pet adoptions more accessible to the public and increase awareness of the many wonderful companions that can be found at the shelter.
We adopted 60 pets at our adoption events in 2007, and that's with only 4 months of activity!

We had a lot of fun with our Christmas parade float, and were tickled when it was awarded second place.
