December Activities

Our latest and greatest offsite adoption event was at the Weatherford PetSmart on December 20th.

The chilly weather didn't stop us from finding homes for eleven dogs. Four of those adopted are pictured above.

Our foster moms held an adoption event at Pets West on December 6 and found homes for six of their dogs. That evening two of our volunteers accepted donations at the Aledo Christmas Tyme celebration.

Several of our volunteers and their rescued dogs rode in the 21st Annual Christmas Parade in Weatherford. It's always a fun opportunity to share our love of our pets with the community.

Upcoming Activities

Our next offsite adoption will be at PetSmart on January 17 from 10am until 2pm, weather permitting. We'd love to have you stop by and visit with us. Even if you're not ready for a new pet, please share this with your friends who may be interested.

Foster Success!
All of our adoptable dogs in foster homes have been adopted! Several more will become available soon.

Happy New Year!

Wow, 2008 was a great year for Parker Paws. We welcomed two dozen new volunteers to our group, conducted 16 adoption events -- resulting in 85 adoptions, began fostering to save even more shelter pets until their adoptions, and raised over $17,000.

At the shelter we've seen an overall increase in adoptions and have been able to purchase supplies to make life better for those pets awaiting adoption.

Other activities include exercising and grooming dogs, assisting visitors to the shelter, and taking photos of adoptable pets for Petfinder.

With the opening of the new office this Spring, there will be space for us to provide assistance to the office staff as well. We're also developing low-cost spay/neuter opportunities in an effort to reduce the large numbers of unwanted puppies and kittens surrendered to the shelter.

Thank you for supporting us in our first year, we couldn't have done this without you. On behalf of every animal brought to the shelter, I look forward to even greater success in 2009.

Building Construction

The newest building at the shelter is now complete, adding 24 indoor/outdoor dog kennels to the facility.

Thanks to our many generous donors, Parker Paws was able to purchase the new cages needed for the cat and dog rooms, as well as Kuranda dog beds for the 24 new kennels.

The new cat room is brighter and larger, accomodating more kitties available for adoption.

This new room is just for puppies and small breed dogs.
