Volunteer Activities
We had a busy December with the Weatherford Annual Christmas Parade, the annual Fantasy Forest Christmas Tree competition (we won the People's Choice Award), helping with photos with Santa at the local Petsmart, and finding homes for 13 foster pets.

The shelter received an abundance of donated supplies at Christmas, thank you to all who helped fill the storage bin! Parker Paws will help maintain the supplies during the year through your generous donations.

Thank you!
Thank you for helping us have a great year of adoptions, at the shelter, at off-site events and through our foster homes. Working together, we've found homes for 119 pets at our 21 adoption events, took over 160 into our volunteers' homes until permanent homes could be found (providing for their vet care), and purchased thousands of dollars worth of supplies for the shelter. Our group took in $30,000 through individual donations, business awards and grants, foster pet adoptions, and special programs throughout the year. We conducted our first feline neuter event in conjunction with the national Spay Day USA. We held our first annual Hot Dog Trot, a fun community event to help spread awareness of the homeless pets and raise money for their care. The need is great, with thousands of lost and abandoned pets turned in to the Weatherford/Parker County Animal Shelter each year. Our mission continues to be to help as many of the pets as possible.
