Fostering
with Parker Paws Our volunteers fostered 6 more pets from
the shelter in January, and we adopted out 8 from our foster homes.
Some foster pets require a longer stay with their temporary families
until a permanent home can be found, but many are adopted quickly.
Either way, we're pleased to have this option available to give more
shelter pets a chance for adoption.
Here are two of our adoptable foster dogs, Daisy and Scrappy,
with links to their Petfinder pages:

Helping
the animals at the shelter Thanks to our many generous
supporters, we're able to make life better for the animals at the
shelter. This month we purchased 18 new Kuranda dog beds to replace
older, less comfortable beds. We also purchased dog leashes,
supplies for the puppy room, and cardboard pet carriers for cat
adoptions.
We welcomed several new volunteers this month, and now have a
larger group who regularly exercise and socialize the pets at the
shelter. What a difference it makes when the dogs can get out more
often!
We love our supporters! Please share this newsletter with your
friends.

Neuter
Scooter for a Nickel
Parker Paws will be offering 25 nickel neuters for male cats on
February 25 in support of national Spay Day USA. This will be our
first low-cost spay/neuter program, and we hope to follow with more
options for low income residents of Parker County.
Most of the animals brought to the shelter are litters of puppies
and kittens, and it's difficult to find homes for so many. We hope
to encourage spay and neuter and prevent this unnecessary
overpopulation.
More information about the Neuter Scooter program is available at
our website, and we've secured advertising in the local newspapers.
Please help us spread the word so that we can prevent unwanted
litters of kittens being dropped off at the shelter.
Mobile
Adoptions
We had another successful adoption event at PetSmart on January
17, finding homes for 11 dogs from the shelter.
These are just of a few of the many adopted dogs.
Upcoming
Events
We'll have the mobile adoption trailer at PetSmart on February
14, at Merritt's Feed on March 7, and again at Petsmart on March 21.
We'd love to have you stop by and visit, and please tell your
friends.
