March Adoption Events
We've had adoption events at the Weatherford Petsmart each Saturday since the shelter closed on Saturdays for the winter months. They will resume their regular hours on March 13 (Tuesday through Saturday from 11am - 4pm). These are two of the shelter pets on their first trip to Petsmart, they've been adopted. We found homes for 33 pets at our Petsmart events in January and February.
$5 Fixit
We were pleased to once again participate in the national Spay Day USA campaign. This year we offered 25 feline spay/neuters for $5 to low-income residents of Parker County. The 21 cats brought in for surgery will no longer contribute to the unwanted kittens who end up at the shelter each year. We look forward to providing more low-cost options for our community.
Animal Rescue Site Contest
Vote for shelter pets daily at the Animal Rescue Site. The first time you vote for the shelter, you'll need to perform a search for Weatherford, Texas and select the shelter, but after that it'll provide it for you. Be sure to confirm your vote, and vote daily.
Hot Dog Trot 2010
Save the date! Our second annual walk will be held on August 14. This event raises money for the shelter pets with a fun run and certified 5K run/walk (with or without your dog) and many more activities. Our thanks to Wright Chiropractic Health Center for coordinating this event for us.
