Fostering
with Parker Paws Our volunteers took in 15 pets to foster
from the shelter in February, with 7 being adopted.
Some of our fosters include pregnant or nursing moms, they won't
be available for a while. Here are three of our adoptable foster
dogs who are available now: Gracie, Jade, and Katy, with links to
their Petfinder pages:
The shelter recently took in several small dogs from one family,
most are in need of socialization. This is when foster homes can
make all the difference in a pet being adoptable. If you're
interested in helping them or other pets in need at the shelter,
please let us know.

March
Makeover Our thanks to Sarah's Dog House for giving Petals
a makeover. Here are her before and after pictures:
She also need a dental cleaning which we were able to take care
of, helping to get this friendly girl a new home.
We love our supporters! Please share this newsletter with your
friends. There are so many homeless pets in need, and so many ways
you can make a difference in their lives. If you can't volunteer at
this time, please consider helping us help them by making a
donation.

Mobile
Adoptions
Merritt Feed sponsored our mobile adoption event on March 7 and
four dogs were adopted, including Keifer who'd been at the shelter a
month. He was a favorite of the volunteers and we were pleased to
help him finally find his new family.
Our adoption event at the Weatherford Petsmart on March 21 also
resulted in 4 adoptions. This is one of the happy dogs who found a
new home:

Upcoming
Events
Fido & Friends is sponsoring our mobile adoption on April 4
at the Weatherford National Bank in Aledo. The bank is located 2
miles south of I-20 on Hwy. 1187. Please come by and visit us. We'll
also be at the Weatherford PetSmart on April 18. If you or anyone
you know is looking for a new companion, we hope you'll stop by.
Puggles
gets a second chance
This sweet little guy was found injured and taken to the shelter.
Shelter staff feared that he'd been hit by a car but without ID tags
or a microchip, they had no way to contact his owners. We took him
to a local vet for medical attention, and a volunteer took him home
to care for him while he recovered. An owner never called or went to
the shelter to reclaim him so he was placed for adoption and quickly
found a new home.
We appreciate the shelter staff making us aware of his condition,
the volunteers who stepped in to transport him to the vet and then
care for him, and our donors who provide us with the funds for cases
like this. Thank you!
