Fostering
with Parker Paws We welcomed 3 new foster volunteers this
month, and now have 10 active foster homes saving lives of shelter
pets.
In April, we found homes for five adults and several offspring
from mother dogs in foster care. More puppies and kittens are
available for adoption. Here are six of our foster pets who are
available now with links to their Petfinder pages:

April's
Special Donor Madeline requested shelter supplies instead
of presents at her birthday party this year. Thank you for your
generosity, Madeline! Mama Dog thanks you, too.
We love our supporters! Please share this newsletter with your
friends. There are so many homeless pets in need, and so many ways
you can make a difference in their lives. If you can't volunteer at
this time, please consider helping us help them by making a
donation.

Mobile
Adoptions
We held our first adoption event in Aledo, thanks to our
wonderful supporters at Fido & Friends. We also appreciate the
Weatherford National Bank of Aledo for providing such a good
location and Thoughts 4 Paws PetSitters for their assistance and
goody bags for the adopters. It was a great success with eight dogs
finding homes. Tony (below) was one of the happy dogs:
Our adoption event at the Weatherford Petsmart on April 18
resulted in 11 adoptions. Holly had been at the shelter for weeks
waiting for this day:

Upcoming
Events
It's the annual Petsmart Spring Adoptathon Saturday, May 2, and
we'll have our mobile adoption trailer with a selection of adoptable
pets in need of good homes. Petsmart will be providing great
incentives to all adopters. If you or anyone you know is looking for
a new companion, we hope you'll stop by.
We'll also be at the Crockett Elementary School's annual
Community Day on Saturday, May 9. The school is located in
Weatherford at 1015 Jameson Street. Please stop by and visit the
adoptable pets. You might just find your new best friend!
Grand
Opening
We're happy to announce the Grand Opening at the Weatherford
Parker County Animal Shelter on June 1 from 4pm to 6pm. The public
is invited to view the final completion of the three new buildings
at the facility. The new office and surgical building completes the
improvements made at the shelter, all funded by donations. This
generosity has provided a wonderful resource for the homeless pets
in our community.
