June
Events Our next mobile adoption event will be at Petsmart
in Weatherford on June 21 (noon until 3:30). We'll now have our
mobile adoption event at Petsmart the third Saturday of each
month. This will help the public know well in advance when
we will be there. We'll have a second adoption event each month if
we have enough volunteers and advance notice. Please contact us if
you'd like to volunteer.
Parker
Paw Purchases Thanks to our generous supporters, we were
able to help the shelter when they ran low on supplies
this month. We restocked their inventory of dog leashes, bleach,
kitty litter and kitten food.
Molly
Update
Molly had medical problems that hindered her adoption from the shelter, and she has been fostered at one of our volunteers' home while she received the needed veterinary care. We're happy to report that she is now ready for
adoption. She's always been energetic and loves playing fetch with you, but now she is also more comfortable indoors and has discovered the joys of being brushed and petted. She's housetrained and gets along well with cats and other dogs. Click here for more information.
We love our supporters! Please share this newsletter with your

Peach
Festival Plans
We're preparing for the Parker
County Peach Festival (July 12th). We'll be selling hand-crafted
items to raise money in support of the shelter and will also provide the watering station
for the dogs at the festival.
Do you have a craft you'd like donate? Or know of a group that
would like to assist us in our crafts production? Please let us
know. You may reach us at info@parkerpaws.org Volunteers
Stay Busy in May
We had two successful offsite
adoption events in May, and also assisted the shelter with
adoptions on May 4. The shelter is usually closed on Sundays but opened for adoptions in support of national adoptathon events. Our group adopted 13 pets this month.
We participated in Belk department store's Charity Day, raising
over $200 for items needed at the shelter. We also had volunteers at
the Aledo school carnival and the Weatherford High School annual
Blue and White football game and raised more money while spreading
the word about our group.
Just as our supporters don't always see the
fruit of their donations, sometimes the volunteers miss the
benefits they bring to the pets, too. Biskit, pictured above, was adopted
by her new family shortly after being seen at an adoption event. The offsite events are great exposure for the
pets, even if the results may be delayed. Chamber
of Commerce Ribbon Cutting
Our thanks to all our sponsors of the ribbon cutting, and to the
volunteers who helped to make it a success. This is one ribbon
cutting that really went to the dogs!
