Foster Program
Our foster program has volunteers who take pets home from the shelter to give them more time and/or provide needed vet care to find a permanent home. We took 5 more pets from the shelter into foster care in July, and 17 went out. As we adopt more out, our volunteers can take more home from the shelter. Here

Thank you for joining us at The Wild Mushroom and helping us raise over $3,000! This lets us provide vet care for our foster pets and purchase needed pet supplies for the shelter. We're also expanding our low-cost spay/neuter options for the community. What a great evening!

2nd Annual Hot Dog Trot
 
Our second annual Hot Dog Trot will be held on August 14. We'll have a 1K fun run/walk and a chip-certified 5K, with or without your dog. You may register online or download a registration brochure from www.hotdogtrot.com. We'll also have a dog costume contest, dachshund races, vendors, raffle prizes, a classic car show and more activities for the whole family. We hope to see you there!
Adoption Events
Stewart is one of the happy pets adopted from our adoption events in July. We held five adoption events in July, finding new homes for 15 shelter pets. Our Hot Dog Trot is August 14, but we'll be inside the Petsmart in Weatherford for the rest of the Saturdays this month (from 11am - 2pm) with pets available for adoption. Please stop by and visit with the pets.
Parker Paws, Jr.
We're happy to announce that we've now got an opportunity for youths 12-17 to help us help the animals. Since our volunteers must be 18 to help at the shelter, we've organized Parker Paws, Jr. to provide fundraising and other activities for the younger animal enthusiasts!
