Bed Drive is a Success!
One of the new buildings under construction at the shelter will have 24 dog kennels. Funding is still shy of the total costs, and Parker Paws helped by raising money to purchase the 24 Kuranda beds needed.

We raised nearly $800 at the Peach Festival, and raised the remaining $500 needed in August. Our thanks to all the generous donors who made it possible!

Parker Paw Purchases
Our donors also made it possible for us to assist the shelter when they ran low on canned pet food this month. Thank you for helping us help them.

Looking for Sponsors
We're keeping our operating expenses low so that all donations go directly to helping the animals, but some costs can't be avoided. Looking for a Playmate
Kenny is very playful and especially loves to play ball. He's smart and was taught to sit in less than a minute. He's not food aggressive and is eager to please. If you're looking for a companion, or know someone else who is, Kenny is a playful pup, about 5 months old, and appears to be part Jack Russell terrier and part boston terrier.


His case number is 08-3356P and you can see more pictures of him here.

August Volunteering

We hosted an adoption date at the shelter on Saturday, August 16, and 11 pets were adopted.


This playful Boston Terrier was quickly adopted on our volunteer day at the shelter.

We've also continued our weekly photo session on Wednesdays so that all of the adoptable pets can be posted on-line at Weatherford.Petfinder.com.

Our new volunteers Michelle, LaNetta & Shelby hosted an information table at the annual Dawg Daze event at the Weatherford swimming pool on August 23. They distributed informational materials and coupon books, and raised money while promoting the adoptable pets that were available at the shelter.

September Events

We'll conduct mobile adoption events at Pets West in Aledo on Saturday, September 13, and at Teskey's (I-20 Exit 403) on Saturday, September 20. Please check our website for more details.

And more fun to come

Fall is often a busy season for fundraising events and this year is no different. Wright Chiropractic will be conducting a Hot Dog Trot (dog walk) on October 4 to benefit the animal shelter. For more information, you may contact Constance at 817-594-5944.

Bella Pop Photography is planning a Halloween party on October 25 to benefit Parker Paws, and other local businesses have approached us as well. So keep your calendars handy as we announce these fun events. Please let us know if you or your business would like to conduct a fundraising event, too, and how we might help.
