Focus
on Fosters Our foster volunteers took home several more
pets from the shelter this month, including many that were too young
to be adopted. Once they are weaned, they will be placed for
adoption.
Here are some of our adoptable foster pets, with links to their
Petfinder pages:

Shelter
Donations Tucker celebrated his 5th birthday asking for
items for the shelter pets instead of gifts.
He and family and friends brought a huge assortments of supplies,
and they enjoyed visiting many of the pets (and especially the
donkey) at the shelter.
Merry
Christmas and Happy Holidays!
May you and your family (four-legged as well) enjoy a blessed
holiday. Here are some safety tips:
- Keep animals out of the kitchen during holiday cooking to
prevent falls and accidental burns. - Don't share rich drippings
or seasoned foods which could cause upset tummies. - Remember -
poultry bones splinter easily and should not be shared with animal
companions. - Avoid using "angel hair" or aerosol artificial
snow. - Tinsel, if ingested can cause intestinal
obstruction. - Consider replacing metal ornament hooks with
fabric ribbon. It's prettier and safer. - Seasonal plants can be
toxic, including: holly, mistletoe, poinsettias and hibiscus. -
New Year's Eve is the second largest day of the year for companion
animals to become lost. Please, make sure that your animals are
safely inside your home before the festivities begin. Leave them in
a quiet room with a television or radio on.

November
Volunteering
We held an adoption event at the Grand
Opening of the new Chase Bank in Weatherford and 3 dogs were
adopted.
This playful yellow lab was one of the dogs adopted.
Our thanks to the Weatherford Blue Belles for helping us at this
event.
Dr. Grote invited us to participate in his Open House with
fundraising and to show off several of our foster dogs. We
appreciate this great opportunity and raised over $400 towards the
new cages for the building under construction at the shelter.
Parker Paws also celebrated their first birthday in November! Our
thanks to the shelter staff for providing a cake for all the
volunteers.
Upcoming
Activities
Volunteers will have an adoption event at
Pets West in Aledo on December 6 from 10am until 3pm.
Parker Paws will have a float in the 21st Annual Christmas Parade
in Weatherford on December 13, beginning at 11am.
We'll conduct a mobile adoption event at the Weatherford PetSmart
on December 20, from 10am until 2pm. We'll also assist Santa inside
the store. It'll be a great opportunity for your pet to have their
picture taken with Santa (with proceeds going to Parker Paws).
There's still time to vote on our Christmas tree entry in the
annual Fantasy Forest competion at Weatherford City Hall. The public
will bid on the entries and vote for the People's Choice until
December 5. Parker Paws will receive all the silent auction funds
received for our tree and the People's Choice winner will be awarded
an additional $150. Be sure to stop by City Hall and vote often.
