Parker Paws
Volunteer Activities

We had three adoption events in November, finding homes for ten pets. We've had 20 adoption events this year, resulting in 110 adoptions. We also celebrated our 2nd Anniversary this month with a reception at the shelter. Our group has grown rapidly these two years, and we look forward to making an even greater impact for the pets in the years to come.

Fostering with Parker Paws
We found homes for 14 of our fostered pets this month, including Daisy, Cassie and Cesar. Our volunteers have taken more pets from the shelter to give them enough time to find permanent homes. There are 16 currently awaiting adoption. Your donations help us provide vet care for these fosters.

Here are some of our foster pets who are available for adoption now with links to their Petfinder pages:

Harrison Chevy Lillie
Remy Boomer Candy
Maggie Doodle Millie

Learn more about our foster program at our website.

Although supporters continue to stop by the shelter to donate pet food and supplies, the need is great and Parker Paws has been able to increase our purchases this month to help maintain their supplies. Thank you for your donations.

Join us on Twitter and Facebook and share with your friends, it'll help get more homeless pets adopted!

You did it!

Thank you so much for your diligent voting (and spreading the word) about the contest at American State Bank. Parker Paws won the first prize of $5,000 in this competion for non-profit groups! This will keep our foster program going strong, ensuring that we're able to provide medical care for those pets we take from the shelter until permanent homes can be found. We couldn't have done it without you!

Fantasy Forest 2009

The annual Fantasy Forest at Weatherford City Hall concludes the People's Choice voting and silent auction bidding on Friday, December 4, at noon. We've got two trees entered in the competition this year, with all proceeds from the auction of our trees (and the $150 People's Choice award, should we win) to benefit the shelter pets. The dalmatian tree pictured above includes photos of many of the fostered pets we've found homes for this year. Our volunteers have fostered over 150 pets from the shelter in 2009.

December Volunteer Activities

We'll be at the Weatherford First Monday grounds with an adoption event on December 5 (9am-2pm), and later that day at the Christmas on the Square in Weatherford (4-8pm), in the annual Christmas parade on December 12 (11am), and holding an adoption event at Petsmart in Weatherford on December 19 (10am-2pm). We'll also be assisting with pet photos with Santa inside Petsmart that day. It's a great opportunity for your pet to have their picture taken with Santa (with proceeds going to Parker Paws). Check our events page for more details.
