All About Molly

Molly was brought to the shelter as a stray. We saw what a friendly and playful girl she was and were excited when she was adopted.

But she was returned to the shelter when it was discovered that she had tumors, apparently caused by having many litters of puppies. She is also heartworm positive, although the vet said it didn't seem to be severe as there wasn't evidence of heart damage.

Update from her foster mom, June 2, 2008:

Molly has come a long way since I got her the end of March. She was kind of indifferent to people and only wanted someone to throw the ball for her. She still loves to play fetch, but also likes people to pet her, brush her and love on her. When I first got her she was very nervous in the house and preferred to be outside. I doubt that she had ever been an inside dog. She spends most of her time inside now and goes outside for potty breaks and to play ball. She's put on 10 pounds since I got her and is at a good weight now. Because she was so nervous before, she would only eat a couple of bites of food at a time. Now she eats all of her food at one time. She gets along fine with other dogs and doesn't chase cats.

It's pretty apparent that Molly had been neglected, but she still has a loving heart. Everyone that meets Molly can see that she's a special dog. I know there is a loving home out there for her--it's just a matter of finding it.

Update August 5, 2008:

We believe Molly deserved another chance, so we're having her medical needs taken care of and will foster her at one of our volunteer's home. Because she's continued to have additional health problems, we've decided that she'll stay with the foster family and not be placed for adoption. Molly has her forever home and we hope she has the happiness she deserves.
