Parker County Peach Festival 2008

Our group made their first entrance into this annual festival, located in downtown Weatherford on July 12, 2008. Anticipating a large number of visitors and 100-degree temperatures, we prepared a cooling station for the 4-legged visitors with fresh water, a cool misting stand, and a wading pool. We also had crafts for sale, including pet bandanas, home-made treats, catnip toys and pet pillows. Our fundraising took in many donations, greatly assisted by our two dogs wearing donation vests. (Yes, we made sure they stayed cool and comfortable.) We had a great day and raised $800 towards beds for the 24 new kennels under construction at the shelter. We wish to thank everyone who made this possible.
