Parker Paws - Parker County Peach Festival 2008

Parker County Peach Festival 2008 Our group made their first entrance into this annual festival, located in downtown Weatherford on July 12, 2008. Anticipating a large number of visitors and 100-degree temperatures, we prepared a cooling station for the 4-legged visitors with fresh water, a cool misting stand, and a wading pool. We also had crafts for sale, including pet bandanas, home-made treats, catnip toys and pet pillows. Our fundraising took in many donations, greatly assisted by our two dogs wearing donation vests. (Yes, we made sure they stayed cool and comfortable.) We had a great day and raised $800 towards beds for the 24 new kennels under construction at the shelter. We wish to thank everyone who made this possible.
Our booth included crafts for sale, a donation site, and water for dogs brought to the festival.		This young boy makes a donation to Lily, one of our volunteers' rescued pet.	Volunteers Linda and Michelle at our donation tree. Visitors could make a donation and place their name on a peach.

Denise prepares for a busy day at the festival.	Our donations alone reached nearly $500. With craft sales, our total raised was $800.
Barb is with a poster of pets available for adoption. Several people went to the shelter afterwards and adopted some of these pets.		One of many dogs brought to the festival who enjoyed a cool drink at our booth.	And some of the visitors took full advantage of our wading pool. This one looks very pleased.
